PROTOCOL 01

Current official status

The current Steam store page and official Steam app-details response agree with Alawar's current Security 51 page. A newer August 7 official announcement also says the game launches on August 12. Because all three current official signals agree, this site uses that date everywhere release status appears.

Release information can change close to launch. The date and status are stored centrally so the homepage, metadata, FAQ, and this page can be reconciled together when an official source changes.

PROTOCOL 02

Why an older date still appears elsewhere

An official June 26 announcement originally said July 27. On July 21, Alawar published a release-date update moving the launch to August 12 to allow additional polish. The current Steam and Alawar product pages now display the later date, so the older announcement is historical rather than current guidance.

This is a routine source-version issue, not a conflict that needs speculation. Current store state and the later dated announcement override the archived launch post. If a search result or old social post shows the earlier value, follow the current product pages before planning a purchase or launch-day schedule.

PROTOCOL 03

What launches and where

Steam lists Security 51 as a single-player Adventure, Indie, and Simulation game. The store provides both Windows and macOS minimum requirements and currently lists Steam Achievements, full controller support, Steam Cloud, and Family Sharing among its features.

No console release is asserted here because the current official pages do not announce one. The demo launched on June 11, but Alawar's July update said it had closed while the team focused on the full version. See the system requirements before launch and the demo guide for a carefully labeled record of demo mechanics.
